Teach Your Kids How To Make Smart Financial Decisions
We are off to a fresh start of the New Year and there is no better time than now to start teaching your children how to make smart financial decisions.
Especially since we weren't taught these things in school, right?
A few months ago, my 10-year-old asked if I would agree to buy him gift cards that he could use to purchase "skins" on his video game in exchange for his completion of household chores.
I can't even begin to explain how many times he pestered me about those gift cards before I actually considered.
Instead of purchasing gift cards and having to pay those ridiculous activation penalties I chose a different route.
In casual conversation, a friend of mines had recently mentioned that there was a kid-friendly debit card on the market that would give children a sense of independence while still being 100% monitored and accessible by an adult.
In case you aren't familiar with this card it's called Greenlight, The Smart Debit Card for Kids. I absolutely LOVE it!
Here are some of the benefits of the card:
- No transaction, transfer, or overdraft fees
- No minimum age. No minimum balance
- Teens can set up direct deposit to get paid directly through their account
- Kids can receive from friends and family directly through their debit card
- Kids can create savings goals and track their progress
I really believe that you would like this card too and there is so much more offered than what I have already mentioned to you. If you're interested, check it out by signing up with my referral link and we’ll both get $10!
